Knight of the Month Bob Stevens

Our Knight of the Month for January 2026 is Bob Stevens.
Robert “Bob” Stevens never has to be asked to participate in Knight functions; he simply volunteers. Bob is a stalwart member of the Knights kitchen team and always participates when the call to serve is requested. You can always find Bob at the pancake breakfasts, and always with a broad smile. Bob is selfless, always representing the council with dignity, pride, and honor in serving the community and parish.
Congratulations on being Council 12017’s Knight of the Month.
Polar Plunge
Dang, was it cold! Water temperature was 48 degrees but felt much colder. Nevertheless, the stalwarts were there to represent all those that chose to stay home in front of the fireplace. Maybe next year.
Pictured left-to-right are our octogenarian Ken Oleary, Program Director Larry Greer, Webmaster Greg Decker, Oleary's daughter Marnie Lockard, and LAMB Chairman Tim Niggel.

As we continue our Lenten journey, consider coming to the Parish Lent Retreat on the theme of the Beatitudes, and how we can make the future joy present. The focus of the retreat will include video of Fr. Sebastian Walshe, O.Praem, reflecting on thoughts from his book Heart of the Gospel. Co-facilitators will be John Clyatt and Terrie Baldwin.
Registration is necessary by registering at Lent Retreat or by leaving your name and phone number with Terrie Baldwin at (910) 880-1282.
Knights Movie Night
The Knights of Columbus "Movie Night" program presents a free screening of Shadowlands on Saturday, March 7 from 6:30 to 9:00pm in the Parish Hall.
In the 1950s, the reserved, middle-aged bachelor C. S. Lewis is an Oxford University academic at Magdalen College and author of The Chronicles of Narnia series of children's books. He meets the married American poet Joy Davidman Gresham and her young son Douglas on their visit to England, not yet knowing the circumstances of Gresham's troubled marriage.
What begins as a formal meeting of two very different minds slowly develops into a feeling of connection and love. Lewis finds his quiet life with his brother Warnie disrupted by the outspoken Gresham, whose uninhibited behaviour sharply contrasts with the rigid sensibilities of the male-dominated university.
Each provides the other with new ways of viewing the world.
When Joy is diagnosed with cancer, deeper feelings surface and the two of them marry. Lewis' beliefs are tested as his wife tries to prepare him for her death.

Please join us for a free screening on March 7 from 6:30 to 9:00pm in the Parish Hall. Admission is free. Donations are welcomed to offset the cost of refreshments.
